A Saturday Quote.
Yesterday I received my March/April Writer's Digest, you would have thought I was a kid on Christmas morning. Reading through I found a quote that I fell in love with. (Pg 23 by Steven James)

I immediately thought of Twilight. So many people criticize the writing but the people that love the books love them for the story. Not to say it's okay to write poorly because we both know that's not the case either :)

ReplyDeleteI think that 'normal' readers, aka not writers, this is the case.
But I find that no matter how engaged in a story I am I still stop to admire the writing. Because, lets face it, I'm still trying to grow as a writer and I know I can learn something from every book I read.
I do the same thing. I even go as far as seeing where they put commas. lol :)
DeleteVery true. I do notice the writing though and if the writing is beautiful, as well as the story-telling than I'm amazed. But, if the writing is beautiful and the story stinks, I won't keep reading based on the lovely use of words. :)
