The other day, I brought my kids to this museum place--I say place because it's like a little town filled with buildings from the late 1800s, early 1900s. Houses. Church. Post office. Bar. dentist. doctor. Farm equipment... There was an old (early 1900s) typewriter and I tried explaining it to him. The whole no computers thing.
They thought the typewriter was pretty darn neat. You just stick paper in. Push buttons. And voila, words. What cool technology! And it only weighed a hundred pounds.
Computers weren't becomming big until I got into college, so I got plenty use out of a typewriter in the early years.
Ahh, what's a typewriter? ;)

That place sounds awesome! I'm a history buff so I would be in my glory. And I love that your kids thought typewriters were pretty darn cool!
