The Matchelor

I've talked before about how grateful I am to have such wonderful critique partners because really they are awesome. When I first started writing I thought my Mom and one friend were all the critique partners I needed. Um..Yeah. Wrong. Over the past year or two I have met some amazing writers and have found a very tight knit critique group. If you don't have a CP or a CP group you need one. The more eyes on your manuscript the better. Even if you have one, another one would be even better.

What's so great about my CP group is we all have different strengths and weaknesses. We all write different genres and all bring something different to the table. I don't know what I would do without them.

If you have not found a CP now is your chance. If you're looking for one more pair of eyes on your manuscript now is your chance. Over on Falling For Fiction we are hosting The Matchelor!

You walk into a room and it's full of beautiful, interesting people. They're all wearing name cards with fascinating information on them. One catches your eye. He or she is the most gorgeous person you've ever seen and their card contains everything on it you've ever wanted. But your feet are pinned to the floor. Your heart pitter-patters so loud you know if you get any closer they'll hear it beating right out of your chest. You bite your lip and sit at the bar instead of making your way to the other side. And go home alone.

This is pretty much what we think happens at our CP/Beta Mixers. Enter THE MATCHELOR. We here at FFF want to hook you up. And if you're willing to put your writing career in our hands. (That's a joke, btw) We'd like to help you out. We've created a questionnaire that I will post here and it will be available on a tab all month. You fill it out and send it to our email address fallingforfiction@yahoo.com by Wednesday March 20th. Please label your email, THE MATCHELOR, so we can easily filter through the critique requests and these forms.

Once we receive the forms we will go through them and based on the information you provide, we will connect you to your perfect match. The results will be posted during the week of March 25th-29th. Just like any blind date or dating show, we aren't going to make you become critique partners or beta readers. But by filling out the form what you're agreeing to do is exchange a chapter or a few chapters with the person we've matched you up with. After that, it's up to you to continue your glorious relationship. The only thing we ask is if we make a successful match, tell us! We'd love to hear about it and tell our followers about it too.

Simple enough? Please help us spread the word. The more participation the more likely we'll find great matches. We have this snazzy button you can use.
