Happy Book Birthday, Melissa!

Happy Book Birthday to my Agent Sista Melissa Giorgio.

Isn't the cover so pretty!!!

Gabi Harkins likes to think she’s a pretty normal sixteen-year-old. She goes to school, suffers though an awful part-time job, and deals with a bratty younger sister. But when a potential shoplifter morphs into a monster right in front of her, Gabi realizes her life is far from normal—especially when that monster follows her home and ends up battling a boy wielding a sword in her backyard.

The boy, Rafe Fitzgerald, is a member of Silver Moon, an organization devoted to eradicating demons before they kill humans. If this little bit of news isn’t earth-shattering enough, Rafe reveals that he needs Gabi’s help. As strong as Rafe is, he does not possess the Sight—a rare ability that allows a hunter to See through a demon’s glamour, enabling them to strike before the demon does. But guess who does?

While Gabi is reluctant to face another demon, she knows she owes Rafe big time for saving her. Together, they’re thrown headfirst into heart-stopping situations as they battle newer and more frightening demons. When she starts to fall for Rafe, Gabi knows her normal life is gone forever.

I can't wait to read this one. You can purchase it today on Amazon.

Stop by Melissa's blog and wish her a Happy Book Birthday. Then hop over to Falling For Fiction for an interactive agent interview with the awesome Jordy Albert.

Have You Heard?

I can't believe I haven't wrote this post yet. I dreamed about writing this post for five years and when I finally can, I totally flake and don't. If you haven't heard you are probably wondering what it is I am babbling about.

A few months ago I got a phone call while I was at work from the awesomeness that is my agent Brittany Booker. (If you want to read about my getting an agent you can go here.) I happened to go to lunch early that day because I was starving and couldn't bear to wait another half hour like I usually did. Because I went so early only my one coworker, one of the only coworkers who knows I'm a writer, came with me. The two of us sat at a table in a corner and started eating when my phone rang. Let me tell you, it took all I had not to jump up on the table and start dancing like this:

You know when you just know. As soon as I saw the number flash on my screen that feeling you get in your gut told me this was going to be a call of epic proportions. I answered, voice shakey, hands shaking even worse and let Brittany tell me what I had been waiting and hoping for for so, so long.

I was getting published!!! As the words came out of her mouth I went from dancing fool to:
Because even though I had a feeling, until you hear the words you just don't know. My coworker watched me as all these facial expressions formed on my face. And let me just say a cafeteria is probably the worst place to get the call. It is loud and makes it almost impossible to hear. I want to apologize to Brittany now for saying What? Excuse me? What was that? like nine hundred times in that one conversation.

I hung up and told my coworker. And I went from shock to:
Then of course I called my Mom and then my Boyfriend. And did a little more Elaine dancing. It was a long journey and now that I got here, I realized as long as it was, really it's just begun. I am so excited and I can't wait to meet the world and for them to meet my characters.

My debut novel, (NEVER) AGAIN, will be out this fall with Berkley (Penguin) Yes that says Penguin! I know! HOLY CRAP is right!!!!

New Deal: Theresa Paolo's (NEVER) AGAIN, a New Adult romance, where just as the college student forgets about her ex-boyfriend, he moves back and into her life, to Julie Mianecki at Berkley (Penguin), in a nice deal, for publication in October, by Brittany Booker of the Booker Albert Agency (World).

There were so many times when I thought I'd never be published and my mom would always say, "Good things happen to those who wait" and I would tell her well I'm sick of waiting and that saying is annoying. Well as always, Mom was right. Good things definitely happen to those who wait and I wouldn't change a thing. My five year journey to get an agent and to get a publisher has shaped me into who I am today and I'm a better writer for it and most of all a better person.

I want you all to know, this wasn't as easy as a submit and yes either. It never is with me. Once again I had to do another rewrite, this time completely changing my story from YA to NA. I will write about that in a future post. But let me just say my book is better than I ever imagined because of that. When it comes to my writing, life likes to throw me hurdles, but I just keep climbing over them, and I don't plan on stopping.

As soon as I get more details about the release/cover I will let you all know! Thanks for being with me on this journey. It's only going to get better :)

Oh! Oh! Oh! There's not much detail, but ahhhh you can find me on Amazon and Barnes and Noble!!!

Join Falling For Fiction's June/July Book Club

Have you ever finished reading a book and want to talk about it only to find no one has read it? That happens to me all the time. So the girls and I over at Falling For Fiction have decided to do a book club.

Details below.

How: read the book and tell us your thoughts

When: July 9th

RSVP: comments section on the original post here
A little about the book:
Before. Miles "Pudge" Halter's whole existence has been one big nonevent, and his obsession with famous last words has only made him crave the "Great Perhaps" (François Rabelais, poet) even more. Then he heads off to the sometimes crazy, possibly unstable, and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed-up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young, who is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart.

After. Nothing is ever the same

I have yet to read a John Green book and I'm very excited. Hope to see you there.

Cover Reveal for Cassie Mae's How to Date A Nerd!!!!!

I'm so excited for today!!!! Today is the cover reveal for Cassie Mae's How to Date A Nerd! If you haven't preorder this one or put it on your TBR list you have to. I love this book! It's the first one of Cassie's I read/critiqued and I was blown away by her talent. Zak and Zoe definitely have a special place in my heart. Okay enough with the stalling.

I think all of you know Cassie Mae, but in case you don't. Meet Cassie:

Bio:
Cassie Mae is a nerd to the core from Utah, who likes to write about other nerds who find love. She’s the author of the Amazon Bestseller REASONS I FELL FOR THE FUNNY FAT FRIEND, and is the debut author for the Random House FLIRT line with her New Adult novel FRIDAY NIGHT ALIBI. She also has a three book deal with Swoon Romance Publishing, including her book HOW TO DATE A NERD. She spends time with her angel children and perfect husband who fan her and feed her grapes while she clacks away on the keyboard. Then she wakes up from that dream world and manages to get a few words on the computer while the house explodes around her. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate.

The blurb for How to Date A Nerd:

Zoe has a great pair of legs, perky boobs, and wears exactly what she needs to show it all off. She works hard for the easy sleazy ‘you only wish you were me’ reputation, burying who she really is—an all-out nerd.

The only time Zoe gets to be herself is when she hides under her comforter to read X-Men comics, sending jealousy stabs at everyone who attends Comic-Con. Keeping up her popular rep is too important, and she’s so damn insecure to care about the consequences. But when Zoe’s sister takes her car for a ‘crash and burn into a tree’ joyride, her parents get her a replacement. A manual. Something she doesn’t know how to operate, but her next door neighbor Zak sure as heck does.

Zak’s a geek to the core, shunned by everyone in school for playing Dungeons and Dragons at lunch and wearing “Use the Force” t-shirts. And Zoe’s got it bad for the boy. Only Zak doesn’t want Popular Zoe. He wants Geek Zoe.

She has to shove her insecurities and the fear of dropping a few rungs on the social ladder aside to prove to Zak who she really is and who she wants to be… if she can figure it out herself.

And now the moment we've all been waiting for. Here is the awesomeness that is the cover. Seriously one of my all time favorite covers. It is amazing. I nearly died when I saw it, it's that perfect. Okay I'm going to stop talking now!

 Here it is!!!!! Get excited!!!

How amazing is it?
